Eastenders analysis

  • settings: pub in East London
  • Accent: cockney
  • Dialogue: "oi", judgemental, trying to be humorous, poor taste, uncaring, "nah"
  • props: alcohol
  • make up: naturalistic make-up adds to the realism
  • class of character: working class
  • costumes: black jacket
  • Typical working class cockney East end Londoner. Aggressive, bald, stocky, white, alcoholic middle aged man.
  • Emergent: he touches upon the subject of Ben's sexuality by criticising his lack of masculinity

  1. Clear and concise analysis. Good to see you using key terms e.g. emergent ideology. Any dominant / residual ideas?
You could also comment on what the appeal is of such stereotypical representations in 2016...?
